Growth in natural gas, the energy of the transition

In order to meet Europe’s gas needs and ensure security of supply in this zone, TotalEnergies – the second largest North Sea producer – has increased production capacity at the Culzean field by 10%. We have also boosted gas exports from our Elgin platform by switching to renewable energy rather than fuel gas to power the facility, and we have conducted infill drilling at our Halfdan platform in Denmark to supply an additional 40 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

Several large-scale LNG projects that have been commissioned or approved or are currently in the design stage, including the North Field East and South projects in Qatar and the Papua LNG project in Papua New Guinea, will further expand the Company’s LNG production capacity.
