To meet rising global demand for energy and contribute to TotalEnergies’ transformation and fulfillment of its ambitions for 2050, Exploration & Production plans to maintain its production of oil and pipeline gas and increase production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 40% between 2021 and 2030, while preventing and reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. E&P is also maximizing the value of its assets through operational excellence and dynamic portfolio management that includes exploration as well as acquisitions and divestments.
Qatar, home to the world’s largest LNG project
TotalEnergies was the first partner that QatarEnergy selected for its North Field East LNG project, and we have now been chosen as a partner on its North Field South project as well. These new projects, among the most competitive in the world, will increase LNG production from the giant North Field and push Qatar’s annual export capacity up to 126 million tons by 2028. With these holdings in NFE and NFS, the Company will boost our global LNG portfolio by 3.5 million tons a year, in line with our goal of increasing LNG production by 40% between 2021 and 2030.
