JULY

Oil

Algeria: Signing of a new production-sharing contract with Sonatrach in the Berkine Basin.

Nigeria: Start of production at the Ikike field, which exceeded its peak production of 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Natural Gas/LNG

Papua New Guinea: Launch of the first phase of front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies for the Papua LNG project's upstream production facilities.

Strategy

United Arab Emirates: Expansion by TotalEnergies and ADNOC of their strategic alliance in natural gas, oil and CCUS (carbon capture, utilization and storage).

Multi-Energy

Angola: As part of the multi-energy strategy, start of development on the Begonia oil field and Quiluma and Maboqueiro gas fields as well as an initial photovoltaic project with a capacity of 35 MWp; a potential second phase would add 45 MWp.

AUGUST

Exploration

Cyprus: A significant gas discovery at the Cronos-1 well in Block 6 off the Cyprus coast, following the Calypso-1 discovery made on the same block in 2018.

Decarbonization

Australia: Alliance between TotalEnergies, INPEX and Woodside to apply for a permit to develop a major offshore carbon sequestration project.

Norway: As part of the Northern Lights project, signing of the world’s first commercial agreement for the cross-border transportation and sequestration of 800,000 tons of CO2.
